Look what I got.......

Singer Featherweight 221K

It's a Singer Featherweight 221K that was manufactured in Scotland/England in 1964.  It was a fantastic find and I'm sew happy to be the new owner.  I have to give hugs and kisses and a zillion thanks to Gary, my brother in law, for having a keen eye.  I just had to share my joy and happiness!
I haven't sewn on it yet, I've been busy just checking it out.  It also came with a lot of attachments.
We got the a/c fixed yesterday.  It seems like a bug decided to short out the contacts.

Whirlwind trip to Florida

I've completed my radiation treatments!!!!!  Time to get out of town.  I had asked Bill if we could go to Florida to visit with my brother for his birthday and play a round of golf.  He said sure.  After my doctor's appointment last Tuesday, we took off for the East.  Had a nice long ride.  We arrived on Wednesday night and on Thursday I got to see my sister (Donna) that I haven't seen in a couple of years.  Nice visit there.  Then on Friday we played golf, me, Bill, Bob, and friend Harvey.  I had forgotten how humid it is there compared to the dryness of Texas.  By hole 13 I was drenched, I mean it looked like I had taken a shower without taking my clothes off.  I sat out the last 5 holes and tried to cool down.  In the afternoon, Donna and my sister in law, Roxanne, came over.  Donna made a berry cake with berry sauce.  Yummy.  My niece, Becky, came over to visit too.  This is a picture of us 5 ladies.

Roxanne - Me - Donna - Becky - Mary Lou

After Donna, Roxanne, and Becky left, Mary Lou, Birthday Boy (Bob), neighbors Jim and Elizabeth, Harvey and Diane, and Bill and I went out to dinner.  Cake again after dinner.  We all came back to Bob and Lou's house and Harvey and Diane brought along another cake - Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream Cake. I'm certain that I've gained at least 5 pounds on this trip.
We got home on Sunday only to find out that one of the air conditioners wasn't working and the temp was so close to 100 outside.  The a/c for the back of the house was working, thank goodness.  A guy is coming today to fix it.  I can't sew cause it's too hot in my sewing/computer room.  Just when I feel like sewing and have the energy to do so, I can't.
Time to get out of this hot room!
