I think winter is almost here

We had a light frost this morning.  Brrrrrrrrrrr.......    Sure was cold earlier but then when I got out of the doctors around noon it was a lot warmer out there.  I had a 3 month follow-up at the surgeon's office.  Everything is going just fine. Then on Thursday, I need to get an ultra sound done.  My oncologist wasn't positive about a lump by the surgical scar, so she suggested that I get the ultrasound.  My surgeon said it's just from the surgery.  I also have to be at the eye doctor's at 8:30 am tomorrow.  It's for pre-op.  I'm going to get my cataract removed from my left eye next week then at the end of the month they will do the right eye.  Maybe I'll be able to see again.  Bill tells me that I can't see to drive but he is wrong, wrong, wrong!  Well, enough about my doctors, on the something more fun.
I made a couple of pair of booties for the new baby.  They are suppose to be size 0-3mos but look a little big to me.  I made them out of flannel so they may shrink a little.

The other day my lawn/landscape guy gave me this pot of flowers, so pretty.  I'm sure that they will last for awhile.  If it gets to cold, I'll just take them into the house for the winter.

My dryer is buzzing me to get the clothes out.
I hope all my family in New Jersey stay safe from the storms.

Baby Quilt DONE

I finished up the baby quilt today.  I would like to pat myself on the back for a job well done.  In my humble opinion anyway.  I do hope that the baby will like it.  I've got a few more things to make and then I will send them all off to the expectant mother.

Another boring day.  All I did today was sew.  It was a pleasure to do so since I haven't done that in a long time.  Bill is taking me golfing for my birthday.  He asked me what I wanted and of course I said that I don't need or want anything because I have everything that I want or need.  Then after a couple of hours, I asked him to take me to play golf.  He made the tee time and I can't wait to go.
Back to sewing some more things.
Catch ya'll later.

I just had to share

this picture of my 2 1/2 year old grandson.  He was enjoying a cup of vanilla ice cream on the back porch with his papa.  Yup, he is still left handed!  I would put his strap back up on his shoulder and he would put it back down.  We had a 'fight' about that and guess who won?  As you can see from the picture, he did!
I've been busy sewing baby things.  I'm doing a log cabin baby quilt right now.  It's been a while since I've sat at the machine for most of the day.  It feels so good to get into the swing of things again.
Not much else is happening around here so it's a short blog for the day.

Back to Being Normal (whatever that is)

I hope that whatever was ailing me the past two months is now over.  I've been feeling really great the past couple of days.  My doctor increased my meds and that seems to make a huge difference.  I guess the stress and anxiety of the past year just caught up to me.  But now I'm back to being my old self and my friends better watch out!
My oldest granddaughter turned 18 today.  My goodness, she was just born!  While visiting with the family my other granddaughter gave me this (thank you, Taylor).

I just love the sign.  I have it hanging in my sewing/computer room so that I can see it every day and be thankful that I am fortunate enough to be able to have it.

The weather took a dramatic turn.  I can't complain about the 100 degree temperature because it never got above 53 degrees for two days.  I put the flannel sheets and heated mattress pad on the bed.  Bill also turned the heat on.  Not cold in my house.  We will probably have to turn the A/C back on in a couple of days.

That's it from my little corner of the world.
