Another Hot Day in Texas

It is really hot today, 100+, but the humidity is higher than normal.  I did get some sewing in today.  Got the bow, stems, and flowers appliqued down.  Tomorrow I might do the leaves.  Suppose to go golfing again in the early morning.  Hope I can take the heat.  A couple of photos to look at today.  I didn't do anything exciting just play on the computer longer than I should have.
'See' you tomorrow!
Peppers are getting bigger!

Temperature is what you see!

I did some work ...

I did get a chance to work on the quilt today.  I've been trying to do the center square. I took a picture (it's only pinned) to show how it's suppose to be.  I'm not that happy with the bow or the flowers.  The green vine will be narrower, I was just to lazy to iron it in half.  The fabric in the bow is different than the flowers even though they look the same.  There will be flowers and vines in the white space.
If anyone has any suggestions about the flowers please let me know what they are.

Sweetie got back from golf this afternoon.  I made dinner of fried chicken, potato salad, and veggie salad.  It was enjoyed by all.  Jr. will be here for another couple of days then he's back to Phoenix.
A note to myself:  Get to the store to get more Peanut Butter Oreo's!!!!!!

All I can say is

That it's too HOT to play golf when it's 100 out there.  We got off the course around 11:00am after playing 18 holes.  I didn't keep score but I probably shot around 115 and Sweetie did a little bit less.  The car was boiling inside and I wasn't cooled down yet so by the time we got home I was soaking wet.  I looked like I went weewee in my pants.  I took a shower as fast as I could and then the fatigue set in.  The rest of the day I've done nothing.
Sweetie and Jr. went to Sweetie's brother's to play golf tomorrow morning.  Glutton for punishment they are!
Seems like I just said this, but, I think I'll work on the quilt tomorrow.

We made it to the airport okay, in a round about way.  Went 30 to Beach St. to 121 to 10 to 183/360.  It took me the same amount of time as if I went 820/183 on a normal day.  We came home the same way.  Then we stopped at the BBQ place and got some ribs and baked potatoes.  Mmmmmmmmm Goooooooood!
I didn't do any work on my quilt today.  I plan to work on it tomorrow afternoon after golf.
I took some pictures of my tiny cucumbers and peppers.  I also took some pictures of the back porch extention.  The porch is cedar and the lattice is cedar colored vinyl.

Accomplishments today

I mostly cleaned house today.  Not very exciting, is it?    I tried the vodka and water solution and I like it very much.  In case anyone forgot, it's 1 part Vodka and 3 parts water.  Put in a spray bottle.  The fabric wasn't 'stiff' like starch but more like sizing, 'crisp'.  Of course I/me/herself could smell the alcohol.  Since I don't drink and can't stand the smell, my nose picked up a little of it (maybe because I wanted to?).  Sweetie couldn't smell it at all.  But then he drinks Scotch, that says it all!
I did work a little on the quilt.  After I get all the blocks done, then I have to applique flowers, leaves, stems, a bow, and hearts.  I am making progress.
Tomorrow it's to the airport.  My big question is why in the world would they do MAJOR construction at both North and South entrances on the major highway but only coming from the westside?  Now I have to navigate all along the 'back' roads to get there.  Fun, NOT.....    Company coming in from Arizona for the week.  We are going golfing very early on Tuesday, that should be a hot time!!!  It's only suppose to be 100.  Maybe we can be off the course before it gets to boiling hot.
Oh!  I finally got little cucumbers on my plants and also little peppers.  Now if they don't rot and fall off I'll be happy.

My first post!!!!

Since this is all new to me, I will probably make a zillion mistakes.  I'm sure that I will get better as time goes by - well, lets hope so anyway.
As far as my sewing goes, I've picked up an UFO that I started last year.  I figured it was about time to finish it sometime this year.  It's called Fans and Flowers.  Since I just cleaned up my sewing area, I can't find the book to give you the title.  Here's a picture of what I have done so far.  That is if I can figure out how to post pictures....   We shall see.
Maybe in a couple of days I will have gotten further on it.
Fans and Flowers - not much done yet
