I finally bought it!

My brother is the type that will 'research' anything that cost over $25.  This research will last anywhere from 1 year to years and years and years (or so it seems).  I think I might be getting a little bit like him.  It took me at least 6 months to decide that I really, really wanted an iPad2.    I know that the iPad3 is coming out on March 7th but the cost is thought to be quite a bit more than the iPad2.  I went to Best Buy today and bought myself an iPad2 WiFi & 3G.

iPad2

Isn't it a beauty!  Of course all I've done so far is to charge the battery.  It's all charged up now and so I can start to play with it.  I also bought this:

iPad for Dummies Book

I want to get the most out of this expensive toy so I figured that I needed this book.  I hope I'm able to understand it all.

On the advice of my big sister, I also bought this:

She said that it is much easier to use the stylus instead of your finger.  Do you know how much a stylus cost????  I was SHOCKED.  The one I bought is the cheapest one I could find at $14.99 and I bought it at Office Depot which, by the way, was cheaper than Target.   Now all I need to do is make a case for it like I did my Kindle.

Fantastic news for this week

The best news yet!  Vaughan was informed by his lawyer that he is getting sole/full custody with no or very little visitation rights of the mother.  He has been doing a great job of taking care of the kids.  He's been the care-giver since Ethan was 3 months old and Christy was 5 and going to college full time.  Grandma and Grandpa are just elated.
I made Christy a dress.  The picture doesn't do it justice, it's much prettier 'in person'.  She is going to wear it to school on Monday, that's the day for school pictures.  The large and small polka dots make it look like waves, but the fabric is smooth.  I never noticed it until I took the picture and thought 'why is that wrinkled up'.  Surprise, optical illusion.

Christy's dress

It felt kinda strange making a dress.  I haven't made a dress since the older granddaughters were about this size which has to be at least 10 years ago.   I have another one cut out (different pattern) and a couple more to go.  She loves to wear dresses!

Bill is almost over his bronchitis.  It really hit him hard this year.  I haven't been sick lately so that's also good news.  I went shopping today.  Went to Joann's to get a few things on sale then headed over to Half Priced Books.  I picked up 2 quilt books.  I also had a 40% coupon so I spent $10 for them.  The list price was close to $50.  I just love Half Priced Books!
The weather has been a little crappy.  It was foggy the last couple of days and then sprinkles today.  The temps in the low 60s.  I guess I can handle all of that.

Winter has finally arrived!

Can you tell I'm excited??  For about 5 minutes anyway.  I guess I'm just a kid at heart.  Tanner loves the snow but it's suppose to be gone by morning.  I did take some pictures:
First snow flakes of the season

Using the flash on the camera to see the flakes
It's hard to believe that it's suppose to be in the low 70s on Wednesday.  Crazy Texas weather!

We had a nice day today.  Christy celebrated her 7th birthday today. We met her and her brother and Dad at the mall.  While the 'guys' hung around the toddler play-area, Christy and I went to find her a gift.  She picked out a very pretty dress.  After that we met up with the guys.  The little ones went on the merry-go-round at the mall.  First time for Ethan but he did very well.  Christy then went to Build a Bear and got a new bear and some accessories. We then all went to Chili's for lunch.  Grandpa and Grandma had just about enough of the outing and had to get home to take a nap!  I'm going to blame that on Ethan.  He must run everywhere.  He kept up and passed me out walking in the mall.  That's kinda hard to do because I have long legs.  Ethan just wanted to go everywhere and see everything.  Oh, the joy of a 20 month old!
