Rain, Rain, stay awhile!

It has been raining steadily for about 3 hours.  I can actually SEE the grass growing.   My lawn now has a tint of green to it.  This is the first good rain in months.  Also the temperature did not reach 100 degrees today.  Right now it's 76.

The little kids came over for a visit today.  They didn't get to go in the kiddie pool or the sandbox.  Ethan did ride his car around and around and around the back porch.  I thought I'd get dizzy just watching him.  Happiness is when the grandkids come and the grandkids go!

No pictures today because we didn't do anything exciting.  I did clean up the featherweight with TuffStuff foam cleaner and then waxed it with boot polish.  It looks pretty good.  I also had an appointment with my oncologist.  Everything is going really well and I don't need to go back until November 1.

I know, I know

it's about time that I post something.  Actually, I've been doing nothing!  No, that's not right, I've been working on a lap quilt.  It's a Double Wedding Ring.  I've got all the blocks done and I'm putting the outer border on.  After I get the borders done then I have to sew the blocks together.  Before someone says 'how can you sew the borders on without the blocks being sewed together first', I'll just post a picture with 4 pieces of the 'border' attached so you can see for yourself.  I took the pictures this morning but the date on my camera is wrong.  It is not 2007!

Last Tuesday I hosted a little get together with my friends. We had a great time exchanging ideas and well, just plain gossip.  We didn't talk about anyone who wasn't here.

As you can see, we also ate and ate and ate.  The food and company was great and so was a delicious chocolate cake that Don made.
I'm going to try and update my blog more often now that I'm finished with radiation and doctors and most importantly, I'm feeling pretty darn good!

Look what I got.......

Singer Featherweight 221K

It's a Singer Featherweight 221K that was manufactured in Scotland/England in 1964.  It was a fantastic find and I'm sew happy to be the new owner.  I have to give hugs and kisses and a zillion thanks to Gary, my brother in law, for having a keen eye.  I just had to share my joy and happiness!
I haven't sewn on it yet, I've been busy just checking it out.  It also came with a lot of attachments.
We got the a/c fixed yesterday.  It seems like a bug decided to short out the contacts.
