Back to Being Normal (whatever that is)

I hope that whatever was ailing me the past two months is now over.  I've been feeling really great the past couple of days.  My doctor increased my meds and that seems to make a huge difference.  I guess the stress and anxiety of the past year just caught up to me.  But now I'm back to being my old self and my friends better watch out!
My oldest granddaughter turned 18 today.  My goodness, she was just born!  While visiting with the family my other granddaughter gave me this (thank you, Taylor).

I just love the sign.  I have it hanging in my sewing/computer room so that I can see it every day and be thankful that I am fortunate enough to be able to have it.

The weather took a dramatic turn.  I can't complain about the 100 degree temperature because it never got above 53 degrees for two days.  I put the flannel sheets and heated mattress pad on the bed.  Bill also turned the heat on.  Not cold in my house.  We will probably have to turn the A/C back on in a couple of days.

A few new things in my life

Since it has been almost a month that I have posted, I am way behind on the new things that I have acquired.  The first is a 'new' 1945 Singer Featherweight 221-1.  I am really thrilled to have this little one.  Here is a picture of the beauty:

I haven't tried it out yet, but will be soon.  I just love the featherweights because I can fix them.  Nothing is electronic except the motor.  On my other featherweight, I have taken the tension off and completely apart, cleaned it up and put it back on and it works just fine.

My other thing is my new car.  Bill said that I could get a new one this year and after looking and looking and having a hard time deciding, this is what I ended up with:

It's a 2013 Cadillac XTS.  When you look at the radio, you will notice that there are no knobs.  Everything is touch screen or voice controlled.  I'm almost afraid to drive it!  My beloved CTS is going to go to another loving home!

Also this month I had my friends come over.  Cheryl, Bobbi, and Don.  Don had called me and wanted me to teach him how to make a quilt. I did show Don how to free motion quilt.  He was an excellent student.  He picked up on the technique very fast and got it perfect!  I can't wait to see the quilt that he will make.

Feeling better

I haven't felt up to par for the last 2 weeks.  I even went to the ER this past Thursday.  After a CAT scan of my head, chest xray, blood work, urine test, and checking my heart, the only thing they found was that I was slightly dehydrated.  They gave me a fluid IV and sent me home.  The next day (Friday) I had an appointment with my oncologist.  They took away my Arimidex for a month.  It might have been the meds that made my head feel out of this world.  Now, I don't need any comments on that statement.  Anyway, when I got up this morning I still felt rotten.  I didn't take any of my regular meds at all and by noon time, I started to feel alot better.  I feel good enough now to be able to get on this computer. 

I did get outside today to take a picture of these beautiful blooms.  Before the rain, there were only a few blooms.  Look how good the trees look and notice that the grass is GREEN!

With the fall coming (you wouldn't know it with the temp at 103), I decided that I needed a new fall purse.  I don't have the lining in yet but when I feel up to getting behind the machine it will get done.

My niece is expecting her first little one and I need to start thinking about making her some things.  I enjoy making baby items because they are small and take no time at all.  I haven't finished my double ring lap quilt yet.  That is next on my list.
